Between the Lines Winery is operated by two brothers, Yannick and Gregory Wertsch. Both have had their feet in the vineyard as long as they can remember; little shoes in the Old World and big work boots in the New World. They took their passion for wine, blended in a whole bunch of knowledge and - deciding to follow their heritage - started a winery in Niagara.
Between the Lines Winery is beautifully situated within their own vineyards. It can be found along Four Mile Creek Road, just between Line 5 and 6.
We are open year ’round!

The story of Cattail Creek Estates Winery goes back to 1957 when Opa planted the first family vineyard in Niagara on the Lake. Since then, three generations have tended to these vines and as the vineyard grew so did our dreams. Finally in 2006 we decided to follow that long-held family dream and add a winery to our vineyards. Every year we walk the vineyards and hand select the grapes that will become the wines of Cattail Creek Estate Winery. Our goal is make great wines that people love to drink.
And while you’re visiting, stop by and enjoy the tranquility of our vineyards with a Picnic in the Vineyard offered from Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend. And new this year, book a 60 minute massage in the serenity of our barrel cellar. For more information, visit our web site at www.cattailcreek.ca

Marynissen Estates has its roots deeply embedded in the soil of Niagara-on-the-lake. Located in the four mile creek sub appellation at the base of the Niagara escarpment, the estate is home to the oldest commercial planting of Cabernet Sauvignon in Canada. The property was purchased in 1953 by viticulture pioneer John Marynissen and his wife Adrianna (Nanny) who immigrated to Canada from Holland. Along with a fruit orchard and a pig barn, there was an existing vineyard on the lot. John and Adrianna went from "swine to wine" when they began growing their own grapes in 1975, planting European vinifera grape varietals such as Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Merlot and Gamay Noir.
John Marynissen was one of the first grape growers in Canada to plant vinifera grapes, at a time when most people thought it could not be done. The vines survived and he proved that our microclimate could create outstanding wines which helped shaped winemaking in Canada. Cabernet Sauvignon was added to the vineyard in 1978 which is now the oldest commercial planting in Canada and the pride of the estate.
The vineyards rich history was born out of a strong devotion to the land, pioneering spirit and passion for excellence. The Marynissen family spent decades watching over the vines, hand farming and harvesting to craft award winning wines. Sadly John passed away in January 2009, and his daughter, Sandra retired but their family legacy and vision for the winery remains intact. Carrying on the tradition and art of exceptional winemaking is multi award winning winemaker Gordon Robert, who joined the estate in autumn 2013. Gordon has worked with notable wineries around the world and strongly believes the best wines are made in the vineyard. With a mixture of old and new world techniques, Gordon's fresh and modern approach to winemaking allows the grapes to speak for themselves.(905) 468-7270

The Puglisi Family Story begins in Sicily, Italy many, many years ago, where the family first grew vines and produced their own wine, as many Italians did. When Giuseppe Puglisi emigrated to Canada in 1965, he brought with him his passion for grape-growing and wine-making.
It is his son, Luciano (Lou), who has been passed the torch and now carries on the family tradition with the beautiful PondView Estate Winery, embracing this traditional artform and cultivating it into fine wines to be enjoyed by the public. Luciano's enthusiasm and respect of fine wines, alongside his dedication and commitment to excellence, will inspire wine lovers everywhere to truly appreciate the wonders of the vineyard. .
