Niagara-on-the-Lake 
 34th annual Candlelight Stroll

We are excited to continue this wonderful experience and heart warming tradition that begins the holiday season in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

This year will be hosting an afternoon showcase with multiple talented musical performances from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm in front of the Old Courthouse on Queen Street, Heritage District.

Showcase Schedule: 

2:00pm-2:30pm Collective Arts Interactive Exhibit

2:45pm-3:15pm Shaw Festival Performers

3:30pm-4:00pm Niagara Star Singers 

4:15pm-4:45pm Queenston Women's Chorus

5pm-5:30pm Yellow Door Theatre 

Santa Claus will be joining in the festivities and will be available for pictures from 3:00pm-5:00pm in front of the Old Courthouse.

We will have strollers in period clothing walking Queen St to take pictures with and help answer any question about the event and can direct you where to purchase candles. 

 

The Candlelight Stroll begins at 6:30 pm on Friday, December 1st, 2023, in front of the Old Courthouse on Queen Street, Heritage District.

  • Candles will be sold from 2:00pm-8:00pm or until candles sell out. Candles are $5 each, cash only.

  • There will be an opening ceremony outside the Old Courthouse at 6:30pm. Town Crier will introduce the recipients of the candle funds, the Lord Mayor and the Chamber President and our friend Santa Claus.

  • The lead recipient (insert recipient's name here) will commence the candle lighting ceremony and lead the stroll in a horse drawn carriage. Carriages are donated by Sentineal Carriages.

  • Participants walk along the stroll route behind the carriage. Enjoy musical Christmas performances from local artists who are generously donating their time and talent to this event.

  • Please dress appropriately for the weather.

PARKING & COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE

Parking is available at Fort George which is easily accessible from the Niagara Parkway at 51 Queens Parade. Community Transportation will be offering complimentary shuttle service from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm from the Fort to the Courthouse and return. Candles can be purchased from the Fort George parking lot as well.

NON-PERISHABLE DONATIONS

Please bring non perishable items in support of Newark Neighbours which provides Christmas hampers for over 50 families in the area. Donation bins will be at Fort George and at the Courthouse. ANONYMOUS DONATIONS
