Bravo Niagara! and Quincy Jones present Justin Kauflin and Alfredo Rodríguez as part of Bravo Niagara!’s 4th Annual Spring into Music @ Stratus. Patrons will witness the Stratus Vineyards Press Alley transform from a working winery into an industrial chic jazz club for this highly-anticipated double bill performance featuring two jazz pianists signed by legendary producer Quincy Jones.
Justin Kauflin is most notably known by his appearance in the award-winning documentary “Keep On Keepin' On” co-produced by Quincy Jones, which is based on Justin's mentorship by legendary trumpeter, Clark Terry. Born with a rare degenerative eye disease and totally blind by age 11, Justin adjusted by learning braille, cane mobility and focusing on music. Clark Terry says of Justin: “He’s a monster on the piano! And, one of the greatest people I know.”
The double bill performance will also feature Grammy-nominated Cuban jazz pianist Alfredo Rodriguez. In the words of Quincy Jones: “Alfredo is without doubt one of the best young pianists I’ve ever seen… his potential is limitless.”
Prior to the 8pm concert, Bravo Niagara! will present an afternoon screening of “Keep On Keepin’ On” at 3pm at Stratus Vineyards, followed by a Q&A with Justin Kauflin hosted by Celine Peterson, daughter of Oscar Peterson and goddaughter of Clark Terry.
